Pedal Kids USA Kicks Off 2025 Touring Events with Family Bicycle Day at SRAM Headquarters

On Monday, January 20th, 2025, Pedal Kids USA had the incredible opportunity to bring our mission of getting more kids on bikes to SRAM Headquarters in Chicago for their first-ever Family Bicycle Day! This event, part of our newest Pedal Kids USA Touring Ventures, focused on building stronger family connections through biking—even in the middle of a frigid Chicago winter.

A Day of Indoor Riding, Learning, and Family Connection

Hosted inside The Dome at SRAM’s campus, this unique event gathered SRAM employees and their children for a day of hands-on biking fun. Kids and parents worked together on essential skills—gliding, balancing, putting pedals on, taking them off—and most importantly, building confidence and joy on two wheels.
For a company at the heart of the cycling industry, it was an eye-opening reminder that even those immersed in bikes professionally can benefit from reconnecting with cycling as a family experience. More than just a mode of transportation, bikes are a gateway to quality time, movement, resilience, and joy—all things that today’s families need more than ever.

Why Companies Are Embracing Bikes for Employee Wellness

It’s no secret that family well-being directly impacts employee well-being. When parents feel connected to their kids, when movement and play are built into daily life, and when stress finds an outlet in outdoor adventure, entire households—and by extension, entire workplaces—function better.
Last year, the U.S. Surgeon General issued an advisory calling attention to the growing mental health crisis among youth and the urgent need for parents to foster stronger connections with their children. Biking is one of the most natural ways to do just that—it gets families outdoors, engaged in shared challenges, and creating positive memories together.
More businesses are recognizing the role they can play in strengthening those family connections. Programs like PeopleForBikes and Bicycle Friendly America highlight how integrating biking into company culture leads to happier, healthier employees who feel more supported both at work and at home.

One Family at a Time—Bringing Our Purpose to Life

At Pedal Kids USA, we believe in a bigger vision for bikes. We don’t just teach kids to ride—we use bicycles to help create a kinder, more connected world, one family at a time. SRAM was the first to bring us in, but they won’t be the last. More and more companies are seeing how investing in family-centered movement leads to real, lasting benefits.
