BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — A new bike shop is looking to give back and invest in our community.

The new brick-and-mortar store is off the Bentonville Greenway Trail.

To celebrate the new store, Pedal Kids and Buddy Pegs hosted a celebration on Friday, May 29, showcasing its expanded bike selection and new educational opportunities.

The festival featured live music, local vendors and biking competitions.

Beyond the shop, Buddy Pegs’ founder said their goal is to give back to the kids in the community.

“The digital childhood is a real thing, and we’re trying to do our part to bring kids back into more of that nature-based, outdoor-oriented childhood,” Founder Scott Fitzgerald said. “The bicycle’s an amazing vehicle for that, and it’s not just a vehicle for recreation. It’s a vehicle for discovering all the important social-emotional learning pieces of developing self-confidence, resilience, connection to community, responsible decision-making, and it’s just a ton of fun.”

The shop is open Tuesday through Saturday.
